Upload Files

Learn how to upload documents for OCR processing. Drag and drop, file browser, and batch upload options.

The fastest way to upload files:

1. Navigate to OCR Tools in the sidebar
2. Drag files from your computer directly onto the upload area
3. Drop files when the area highlights blue
4. Review your selected files in the list below

Supports multiple files - just select them all and drag together!

Traditional file selection:

1. Click the upload area or "Browse Files" button
2. Select files using your system's file picker
3. Hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple files
4. Click Open to add them to your upload queue

Images

• PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
• JPG/JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
• Maximum size: 10MB per file
• Recommended resolution: 300 DPI or higher

Documents

• PDF (Portable Document Format)
• Multi-page PDFs supported
• Maximum size: 10MB per file
• Text and image-based PDFs both work

For Best Results:

• High Resolution: 300 DPI minimum for scanned documents
• Good Contrast: Dark text on light background
• Proper Orientation: Text should be right-side up
• Clean Images: Minimal noise, shadows, or distortion

Avoid:

• Blurry or out-of-focus images
• Extremely low resolution (under 150 DPI)
• Heavy shadows or glare
• Rotated or skewed text

• Per File: 10MB maximum
• Batch Upload: Up to 50 files at once
• Total Batch Size: 500MB maximum
• Processing Time: ~30-60 seconds per page

Visual Indicators:

• Default: Gray dashed border
• Drag Over: Blue highlighted border
• Files Selected: Green checkmark with file count

After uploading, you'll see:

File Information:

• File name and type icon
• File size
• Remove button (×) to deselect

Benefits:

• Process many documents at once
• Same output format for all files
• Efficient credit usage
• Single download for all results

How It Works:

1. Select Format: Choose one output format for all files
2. Upload Files: Add up to 50 files
3. Process Batch: All files processed simultaneously
4. Download Results: Individual files or zip archive

Credits are charged per page:

• Images: 1 credit per image file
• PDFs: 1 credit per page in the PDF
• Batch Total: Sum of all pages across all files

Example:

• 3 image files = 3 credits
• 1 PDF with 5 pages = 5 credits
• Total batch cost: 8 credits

Scan Settings:

• Resolution: 300 DPI for text documents
• Color Mode: Grayscale or color (avoid pure black & white)
• Format: Save as PNG for best quality, JPG for smaller files

Mobile Photos:

• Lighting: Use good lighting, avoid shadows
• Stability: Keep camera steady to avoid blur
• Angle: Shoot straight-on, not at an angle
• Background: Plain background works best

File Naming:

• Use descriptive names: invoice_2024_01.pdf
• Include dates: receipt_jan_15_2024.jpg
• Avoid special characters: &, %, #

Folder Structure:

• Group related documents
• Process similar document types together
• Keep originals as backups

"File Too Large"

• Reduce image resolution or compress PDF
• Split large PDFs into smaller files
• Use online compression tools

"Unsupported File Type"

• Convert to PNG, JPG, or PDF
• Check file extension is correct
• Rename file if extension is wrong

"Upload Failed"

• Check internet connection
• Try uploading one file at a time
• Clear browser cache and retry
• Disable browser extensions temporarily

"Files Not Appearing"

• Refresh the page
• Try a different browser
• Check if files are actually selected
• Verify file permissions

Fully Supported:

• Edge 90+

Limited Support:

• Internet Explorer (not recommended)
• Older browser versions

During Upload:

• Files encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
• Secure connection to our servers
• No third-party access

After Processing:

• Files stored in encrypted cloud storage
• Access restricted to your account only
• Automatic deletion after 30 days

We Never:

• Share your files with third parties
• Use your content for training AI models
• Store files longer than necessary
• Access files without your permission

We Always:

• Encrypt all file transfers
• Delete files after 30 days
• Comply with privacy regulations
• Provide secure download links
